Grey Goose Vodka Martini with a Twist

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Celebrate the holidays in style with a Grey Goose Vodka Martini! This classic vodka martini is a "twist" on the dirty martini, using a surprisingly delicious ingredient!

Bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and a glass with a grey goose vodka martini with a twist

The holiday season has arrived which means lots of parties and get togethers. Between those I host and those I'm invited to, my calendar is full to bursting - which is just the way I like it, spending time with family and friends.

But this also means coming up with food, drinks...  and with creative gift ideas.

It can be a little overwhelming. Today though, I have 2 fabulous ideas for you - for a classic vodka martini cocktail and for a lovely gift that will definitely help you "simplify" things this holiday season!

For years, I've always given bottles of wine as gifts and although appreciated, they've become a little boring. Since I love craft cocktails, this year I'll be giving bottles of Grey Goose Vodka along with copies of the recipe for this Grey Goose Vodka Martini. The bottles alone are so pretty they only need a bow - what could be simpler??

I love to serve a "signature" cocktail at parties and get togethers - it's a wonderful ice breaker (no pun intended) and it's a lovely way to welcome friends and family during the holidays.

This year it's going to be this Vodka Martini with a Twist. This classic cocktail, made with Grey Goose Vodka and dry vermouth could not be simpler to make or serve!

How to make A Vodka Martini

  1. Pour 2 ½ oz. of vodka into a jigger.
  2. Add to a mixing glass.
  3. Add ½ oz. dry vermouth.
  4. Add one dash of Orange bitters.
  5. Add ¼ teaspoon preserved lemon juice (optional)
  6. Add ice to the mixing glass and stir.
  7. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  8. Garnish with a strip of preserved lemon.

I know my guests will love this "twist" on the classic vodka martini cocktail. Riffing on the classic dirty martini, I've substituted the juice from preserved lemons for the olive juice and replaced the standard olive with a stip of preserved lemon.

I know it sounds a little strange - but hear me out. The juice from preserved lemons has the same salty characteristic as olive juice WITH a touch of bright citrus. So if you like dirty martini's... you are going to love this smooth, dry and sultry version!

Tips for making and serving Vodka Martini's!

  • I used Grey Goose Vodka, but use whatever vodka you enjoy!
  • Vermouth - I used Noilly Prat, but use whatever dry vermouth you have. Dolin, Cinzano or Martini and Rossi and all great choices.
  • If serving at a party, set up a Martini Bar! Just set out all the ingredients, glasses, a mixing glass and garnishes and let your guests mix their own! It's fun the for the guests and definitely simplifies things for you!
A bar set up for making vodka martini's - vodka, vermouth, glasses, a mixing glass and spoon, jigger, ice bucket and cocktail garnish on a platter.

  • Ruby Red Moscow Mule
  • Key Lime Martini
