Tamarind Margarita

Flavored with tamarind concentrate, this tamarind margarita cocktail is sweet, tangy and perfect with chips, salsa and guacamole.

  • Jigger
  • cocktail shaker


  • 2 oz. silver tequila I used Patron Silver
  • ¾ oz. tamarind concentrate
  • ¾ oz. homemade sweet and sour mix
  • ¼ oz. fresh lime juice
  • ¼ oz. agave nectar
  • fresh lime slices optional
  • fresh kumquat slices optional
  • kosher salt optional


  • Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shake
  • Fill the shaker ⅔rd's full with ice
  • .Shake for 10 - 15 seconds.
  • Strain over ice into a rocks glass, rimmed with salt if desired.
  • Garnish with fresh lime and kumquat slices if desired.


  1. Refrigerate leftover tamarind concentrate. 
  2. TIP: Add a little of the concentrate to dressings and marinades - basically anything that uses lemon/ lime juice!
